No Farms, No Food
The Fondy Farm Project was established in 2010 to support farmers selling at the Fondy Farmers Market, with a goal to increase the capacity to provide fresh, local, affordable produce to Greater Milwaukee. When it was realized that Fondy’s primarily Hmong American farmers were dropping out of farming to due numerous challenges, Fondy responded by establishing the Fondy Farm Project.
Currently the Fondy Farm @ Mequon Nature Preserve is a 40 acre farm with more than 20 annual farmers. Since 2018, Fondy has remained at the Fondy Farm @ MNP location, and is working to identify more farmland access opportunities in the region.
